Cartridge Brewing in Maineville, Ohio is not only serving delicious food and beers on tap, it is actually housed in a historic building. Originally opening in 1916 as the Peter Cartridge Factory, they were a gunpowder and ammunition factory that supplied the military in both world wars. After being abandoned for several years, the building was added to the National Register of historic places in 1985. In 2020, they restored some of the structures and built a brewery and apartment complex.
We recently visited the restaurant for dinner and drinks. The exterior of the building still very much looks like the old abandoned ammunition factory. One side is Cartridge Brewing and the other side was made into an apartment complex. Sitting right above the Little Miami Bike Trail, makes it an easy stop for bikers to catch a quick bite.
In the evening, it has a very modern bar vibe. They have several of their beers on tap, delicious appetizers and a good food menu, including a kids menu. We ordered many appetizers to try- the Brussel sprouts with potatoes, pretzels with bier cheese, cheese curds and pork belly for appetizers for the group to share. Every appetizer was thoroughly enjoyed. I think my favorite was the spuds and sprouts.
Before deciding on a beer to drink, we ordered a flight of four beers to try. They had a large selection of draft beers to choose from, each listed with a description so you can choose a kind you like.
We were getting full after the appetizer medley, but we still wanted to try entrees from the menu. I chose The Cartridge burger and fries. The burger was really good, but those fries were so delicious and crispy! Other people in our party chose pizza and wings. Everyone at the table seemed to be really pleased with their food.
